FAQ
What should I do if I find myself in the vicinity of a snake ! (Should I walk away, run away, or stay still?) Answer: Stand perfectly still, especially if you are unable to identify what species of snake it is. The snake will not feel threatened if you do not move. In most cases, it will move off in due course, and it will not even know you are there.
If I see a snake that is off the ground, say in a tree, can i infer anything from that ? Answer: Yes, in the vast majority of cases, any snake found off the ground, particularly in trees, can almost certainly be classified as harmless. Venomous snakes are not often known to climb.
